Welcome!

At Haslett Community Church, we believe all of us are on a journey with and to God.  It’s a journey that’s wondrous, frightening, and joyful.  It has many different points along the way and at each one we need companions.

We need friends “in the Spirit” who can help us and whom we can help with generous gifts of honest comfort and guidance, challenge and support.  At whatever point you are in your journey we pray that we can offer this kind of companionship to you.  Please know that whoever you are and whatever your background may be, we want to welcome you here.  We want to welcome you as warmly and as truly as Jesus Christ has welcomed us.

Our covenant steadily reminds us of our basic purposes at this church.  We’re gathered to worship God, to proclaim Christ’s gospel, to inspire people with love for truth, passion for righteousness, and enthusiasm for service.  We’re pledged to seek in every way to be a power for the building of God’s Kingdom.  We invite you to join us in the adventure of learning and living into more and more of what this means.

This website and its United Church of Christ links can give you a glimpse into some of the many programs and activities through which we and our larger church strive to live out our covenant commitments.  The newsletter and calendar pages can be especially helpful with some of the details of what we’re doing and when.  We hope that browsing here will lead you to the next step of letting us know more specifically how we might become spiritual friends with you.

Don’t hesitate to contact me or any other members of our staff with any questions you may have.  Please be aware of our regular Inquirers’ Meetings, one of which may prove useful to you in learning more about us.  Led by our Moderator, Tim Hiller, and me, they’re held nearly every month, usually on the third Sunday.  Please call our church office or check our calendar page for exact time of the next Inquirer's Meeting.  The meeting is designed to last about 90 minutes and provides an overview of life at HCC and in the United Church of Christ.  You don’t need to sign up in advance.  Simply come if and when it suits you.

In Christ’s love,
