Haslett Community Church supports the following missions…
Loaves and Fishes
Each month we prepare a main dish, vegetable, salad, and dessert for 15 guests at the Loaves and Fishes shelter in Lansing.
Meals on Wheels
We partner with our local Meals on Wheels Association to deliver meals daily to our senior neighbors in Haslett.
Each October we participate in the Greater Lansing CROP Hunger Walk to raise money to meet basic needs and to carry out projects that help people become more self-sufficient.
Christmas Giving Project
We gather gifts and food for 100 families in the Haslett public school district who otherwise might not have presents and food to share at Christmas time.
AMU Rwandan Orphan Ministry
Each year we raise funds through special events to support the Association Mwanda Ukundwa (Beloved Child Association) in Rwanda. Founded by Rose Mukankaka Gakwandi in the aftermath of the 1994 Rwandan genocide, this ministry continues to serve those who were orphaned.
Greater Lansing United Nations Association
Other Outreach Efforts
Annually we fund Our Church’s Wider Mission as part of our regular budget and through a special yearly offering we also collect for One Great Hour of Sharing. Both of these support regional, national, and international ministries of our denomination.
We also make our facilities available at minimal or no cost for community groups, projects, and events, e.g., AA, Al-Anon, Gideons, Boy Scout, Girl Scout, and Venture Scout troops, Red Cross blood drives, Volunteers of America clothing bin, Yoga Class, Exercise Boot Camp, Circle of Friends Folk Music and High School Senior Recitals.
